Game Day Totchos (Tater Tot Nachos) Recipe (1)

Tater tot nachos = game day totchos!

We love nachos (have you tried our buffalo chicken nachos or Rainforest Cafe copycat?), and we think they make the perfect food to feed a crowd.

We combined some of our favorite nacho toppings with crispy tater tots and these “TOTCHOS” were born.

Unlike chips, tater tots don’t get soggy, so you get a perfectly crunchy bite every time.

You only need simple ingredients for these Game Day Totchos:

  • Tater tots
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Queso blanco
  • Pico de gallo
  • Crumbled bacon
  • Green onions

Do you need to fry your tater tots?

Nope! This recipe follows the “baking directions” for tater tots.

You can fry your tater tots for an even bigger crunch (just skip the first baking part and follow the frying directions), but it’s not necessary.

Can you use homemade queso on these Game Day Totchos?

Yes! You can definitely use homemade queso (we love this queso blanco recipe).

This is the kind of queso we used for this recipe, but any kind will do (it doesn’t need to be queso blanco, either).

How to make totchos

Step 1: Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Spread tater tots on an even layer, then bake according to package directions.

Step 4: Return to the oven for 3-4 minutes, until cheese is melted and warm.

In conclusion, our game day tater tot nachos, or “totchos,” recipe is the perfect way to elevate your big game or Super Bowl party with a delicious twist on the traditional nachos. Whether you’re a tater tot fan or trying loaded totchos for the first time, this easy recipe is the ultimate gameday snack that will have everyone cheering.

Creating a crispy and golden brown base of tots is made effortlessly in the air fryer or oven, allowing you to enjoy the deliciousness of classic nachos with a delightful crunch. The versatility of totchos lies in the variety of toppings you can choose from—loaded with taco meat, black beans, sharp cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack, pepper jack cheese, and more. For a vegetarian or vegan twist, you can opt for toppings like black olives, fresh tomatoes, red onion, and even a drizzle of homemade BBQ sauce.

The easy cheesy totchos can be customized according to your preferences, making them a great way to cater to a diverse crowd. Ground turkey, lean ground beef, rotisserie chicken, or even a vegan substitute can serve as the protein base for your totchos, ensuring there’s something for everyone at your game day gathering.

Hey! thanks for the information. I have always wondered how you can cook food so deliciously. I’m already 30 years old, but I don’t know anything about cooking. But I, in turn, work in a computer game development company in 2D art development. This is a very cool job since I am doing the job that I like. But I would also like to learn how to cook good and tasty food.
